Community Access Team

Team Description:

The Community Access Team works towards furthering the mission of Middlebury Foods by identifying the ways in which Middlebury Foods can best serve the needs of the Addison County community, and then working to make those ideas a reality. This team entails research and interest in building relationships with other community groups in order to partner and identify the needs of the community. The team then works to strategize a plan for Middlebury Foods to best mitigate and address the issues facing the community.

 

Open Positions:

Community Outreach Coordinator:

  • Develops and maintains an understanding of the Addison County community and initiates efforts to expand knowledge of Middlebury Foods throughout the community
  • Helps research and identify means through which we can better approach and serve the community
  • Collaborates with other entities that can help to further our mission in the Addison County community

Qualifications:

  • Able to conduct meetings with partners or community members in a professional setting
  • Proficiency in (or willingness to learn) creating outreach flyers, posters, handouts
  • Enthusiasm for the Addison County community

Expectations:

  • 2-3+ hours per week as necessary/available. Delivery weeks may be busier (3-4 hours plus delivery itself)
  • Semi-weekly meetings with Community Access Team and support to other projects
  • Attendance at at least one packing session and one delivery per month

 

SNAP Outreach Coordinator:

  • Develops and maintains an understanding of the Addison County community and initiates efforts to expand knowledge of Middlebury Foods throughout the community
  • Helps research and identify means through which we can better approach and serve SNAP customers within the community
  • Collaborates with other entities to understand how to best make our service accessible to low income customers

Qualifications:

  • Dedicated to growing and reaching a much broader SNAP customer base
  • Able to conduct meetings with partners or community members in a professional setting
  • Able to converse, interact, and build relationships with our SNAP customers
  • Proficiency in (or willingness to learn) creating outreach flyers, posters, handouts
  • Enthusiasm for the Addison County community

Expectations:

  • 2-3+ hours per week as necessary/available. Delivery weeks may be busier (3-4 hours plus delivery itself)
  • Semi-weekly meetings with Community Access Team and support to other projects
  • Attendance at at least one packing session and one delivery per month

 

SNAP Payment Coordinator:

  • Responsible for ensuring the timely and organized conducting of the SNAP payment process
  • Responsible for delegating tasks of the process
  • Ensures the simplest and easiest process for the SNAP customer

Qualifications:

  • Organized and responsible.
  • Ability to keep track of SNAP payment process and ensure that every step is completed over delivery
  • Comfortable talking with customers on the phone and in person

Expectations:

  • 1-2 hours per week as necessary/available. Delivery weeks may be busier (3-4 hours plus delivery itself)
  • Semi-weekly meetings with Community Access Team and support to other projects
  • Attendance at at least one packing session and one delivery per month
